As a celebration of Brentwood, Maryland’s resurgence as a premier, vibrant artist community, the objective of this project was to design a mixed-use multifamily building that serves as a live, work, and play space with high-end amenities and collaborative spaces perfect for creatives in the community.
The guiding principles in this project were three-fold: to create an environment that promotes community; to design spaces for living and gathering that encourage social interaction; and to develop a haven for local artists to create and showcase their work.
This mixed-use development functions as a “showcase” of the community and allows for unique lifestyle flexibility. Studio 3807 provides 132 multi-family apartments and 15 townhome-style apartments, countless residential amenities, concealed garage parking, five artist studios, and an exciting retail space that functions as a communal food hall. This flexibility and variety accommodates the many different needs, lifestyles, and interests of residents in the neighborhood.
The design team worked together to design a site-sensitive building that fit in well with the surrounding community.
With the addition of Studio 3807 and its proximity to The Artisan – also designed by Grimm + Parker – this area of Brentwood has anchored itself as the center of the Gateway Arts District known as “Artists Row.”

Studio 3807 was designed to allow culinary and visual art to come together under one roof. Individual art studios and public exhibition spaces allow artists to create their work and display it to the community. “MIXT,” also at 3807, is an artisanal communal food hall within the building's 6,300 square foot retail space intended to elevate local flavors and culinary artists.
In Grimm and Parker, I found a design firm that shares my passion and brought the creativity to realize our vision for this neighborhood focal point.

This mixed-use development was designed to include a host of amenities that make the art of living exciting for Studio 3807 residents. From standard features like a fitness center, lounge, conference room, and fire pits, to pet-friendly conveniences, food-centric services, and transportation perks — there is no end to the benefits that Studio 3807 offers.
