Renovation + Addition
William Rawn Associates
To consolidate student affair functions in central student life village, three departments and eight distinct offices needed to find space. However, necessary program exceeded the site available for one addition at The Sadler Center, so other options were investigated, leading to the renovation of nearby King Center to make services centrally accessible.
A three-story addition to The Sadler Center includes building two levels over an existing loading dock that had to remain open throughout construction. The addition to the King Center (now Campus Living Center) will house Campus Living: Residence Life and Student Transition Engagement Programs.
The W&M community has raved over the positive impact this project has already made in such a short time.

Transparency of student life functions is key, as well as connecting the heart of The Sadler Center with student life on campus.
Much of this success can be attributed to G+P's dedication to design details, understanding of our campus culture & values, and—simply put—effective communication.
